COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of one person killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, November 10, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 12, at midnight.

As of November 12, 833 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 893 highway deaths during the same time period in 2016.
Of the 560 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2017, 274 were not wearing seat belts.
Through midnight November 12, 128 pedestrians have died compared to 123 in 2016; 102 motorcyclists have died compared to 136 in 2016; and 17 bicyclists have died compared to 22 in 2016 on state roads and highways.
