COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of 10 persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, October 30, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 1, at 11:59 p.m.

As of November 1, 858 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 839 highway deaths during the same time period in 2019.
Of the 858 people who have died in 2020, 582 had access to seatbelts, and 312 were not wearing seat belts.
Through November 1, 145 pedestrians have died compared to 134 in 2019; 96 motorcyclists have died compared to 118 in 2019; and 11 bicyclists have died compared to 25 in 2019 on state roads and highways.
