COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of 12 persons killed on South Carolina roadways during the 102-hour Thanksgiving Day travel period beginning Wednesday, November 25, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 29, at 11:59 p.m. Eight of the fatalities occurred over the weekend period. In comparison, in 2019, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety announced a preliminary number of 22 persons killed on South Carolina roadways during the 102-hour Thanksgiving Day travel period from November 27, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, December 1, at 11:59 p.m.
