COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways during the Christmas Day travel period beginning Thursday, December 24, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, December 27, at 11:59 p.m. One of the fatalities occurred over the weekend period. In comparison, in 2019, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety announced a preliminary number of two persons killed on South Carolina roadways during the Christmas Day travel period from December 24, at 6:00 p.m. until December 25, at 11:59 p.m. In addition, a preliminary number of two persons were killed on South Carolina roadways during the weekend period beginning Friday, December 27, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, December 29, at 11:59 p.m.
