SCDPS Reports Six Killed On South Carolina Roadways October 12 – October 14, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, October 12, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, October 14, at 11:59 p.m.

As of October 14, 785 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 779 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 541 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 273 were not wearing seat belts.

Through October 14, 119 pedestrians have died compared to 115 in 2017; 83 motorcyclists have died compared to 100 in 2017; and 16 bicyclists have died compared to 14 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
