SCDPS Reports Two Killed On South Carolina Roadways December 28 – December 30, 2018

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, December 28, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, December 30, at 11:59 p.m.

As of December 30, 989 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 988 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 686 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 348 were not wearing seat belts.

Through December 30, 150 pedestrians have died compared to 158 in 2017; 99 motorcyclists have died compared to 115 in 2017; and 19 bicyclists have died compared to 17 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
