COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, February 15, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, February 17 , at 11:59 p.m.

As of February 19, 105 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 109 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.
Of the 78 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2019, 37 were not wearing seat belts.
Through February 19, twenty pedestrians have died compared to seventeen in 2018; three motorcyclists have died compared to five in 2018; and one bicyclists have died compared to two in 2018 on state roads and highways.
