SCDPS Reports Six Killed On South Carolina Roadways September 7 – September 9, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, September 7, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, September 9, at 11:59 p.m.

As of September 9, 676 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 685 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 470 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 238 were not wearing seat belts.

Through September 9, 101 pedestrians have died compared to 98 in 2017; 71 motorcyclists have died compared to 80 in 2017; and 12 bicyclists have died compared to 13 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
