As of June 30, 452 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 509 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.
Of the 452 people who have died in 2019, 296 had access to seatbelts, and 144 were not wearing seat belts.
Through June 30, 81 pedestrians have died compared to 74 in 2018; 46 motorcyclists have died compared to 56 in 2018; and 13 bicyclists have died compared to nine in 2018 on state roads and highways.
