Lexington, SC – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is releasing information regarding the arrest of Donnie Myers on February 22, 2016.
The Highway Patrol was called to the scene of Old Chapin Road and Beech Creek Road in Lexington just before 8 p.m. to investigate a single vehicle collision.
Troopers found that a 2007 Lexus had been traveling northbound on Old Chapin Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Beech Creek Road. The vehicle ran off the roadway, striking a utility pole. There was no occupant with the vehicle. Troopers went to the residence of Mr. Myers in Lexington and after interviewing him determined that he was the driver of the vehicle and was found to be driving under the influence at the time of the collision.
Mr. Myers was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Richland County Detention Center where he was offered a datamaster breath test, which resulted in a 0.09% blood alcohol content. (Mr. Myers was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center due to his position as the solicitor of the 11th Judicial Circuit, which includes Lexington County).
SCHP has released Mr. Myers into the custody of the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
