| WHAT: | Bridge Dedication to Patrolman Jimmy A. Traylor (End of Watch – December 25, 1970) The SCDOT will name the overpass located along Lafayette Drive in the City of Sumter “SCHP Patrolman Jimmy A. Traylor Memorial Bridge.” Traylor, a Fairfield County native, was on duty in Sumter County on December 25, 1970, when he was called to assist another patrolman and was fatally shot in the line of duty. |
