SCDPS Reports Three Killed On South Carolina Roadways September 21 – September 23, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, September 21, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, September 23, at 11:59 p.m.

As of September 23, 717 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 717 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 497 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 248 were not wearing seat belts.

Through September 23, 110 pedestrians have died compared to 104 in 2017; 73 motorcyclists have died compared to 87 in 2017; and 14 bicyclists have died compared to 14 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
