COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of ten people killed on South Carolina roadways during the 102-hour Thanksgiving Day travel period beginning Wednesday, November 24, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 28, at 11:59 p.m. Six of those fatalities occurred over the weekend period. In comparison, in 2020, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety announced a preliminary number of 14 people killed on South Carolina roadways during the 102-hour Thanksgiving Day travel period from November 25, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 29, at 11:59 p.m.
