SCDPS Reports 10 Killed On South Carolina Roadways June 22 – June 24, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of 10 persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, June 22, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 24, at 11:59 p.m.

As of June 24, 465 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 500 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 332 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 162 were not wearing seat belts.

Through June 24, 66 pedestrians have died compared to 71 in 2017; 46 motorcyclists have died compared to 52 in 2017; and eight bicyclists have died compared to eight in 2017 on state roads and highways.
