SCDPS Holds Ceremony To Recognize Achievements In 2022 DUI Enforcement

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety held a ceremony today in Columbia to recognize law enforcement agencies and officers for their 2022 achievements in statewide DUI enforcement. This was the first ceremony held since 2019 due to COVID-19. 

Awards were presented to officers and agencies in several categories during the ceremony. 

The following is a complete list of winners: 

State Transport Police Region of the Year: 
  STP Region Three (Oconee, Pickens, Anderson, Greenville, and Spartanburg counties) 

Highway Patrol Troop of the Year:  
  SCHP Troop 4 (Cherokee, Chester, Chesterfield, Fairfield, Lancaster, Union, and York counties) 

South Carolina Law Enforcement Network of the Year: 
  16th Circuit (York and Union counties) 

Agency of the Year (five categories based on the size of the agency):
  1-10 officers: Belton Police Department 
  11-25 officers: Pickens Police Department 
  26-50 officers: Clemson University Police Department 
  51-100 officers: Goose Creek Police Department 
  101 or more officers: Charleston Police Department 

Rookie of the Year:  
  Police Officer Shonnah McCauley, Charleston Police Department, 30 DUI arrests 

Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year:  
  Lance Corporal J. R. McNeal, Troop 4, Post D, 31 DUI arrests 

Officer of the Year (five categories based on the size of the agency): 
  1-10 officers: K-9 Officer Jacob Crow, Wellford Police Department, 36 DUI arrests 
  11-25 officers: Staff Sergeant Christopher Griffin, Pickens Police Department, 22 DUI arrests 
  26-50 officers: Officer Darris Goss, Hanahan Police Department, 73 DUI arrests 
  51-100 officers: Officer Jeremy Jones, Easley Police Department, 105 DUI arrests 
  101 or more officers: Officer Zachariah Azari, Charleston Police Department, 110 DUI arrests
