SCDPS Reports Seven Killed On South Carolina Roadways During Labor Day Holiday Travel Period

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven people killed on South Carolina roadways during the Labor Day holiday period beginning Friday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m. until Monday, September 4, at 11:59 p.m. There were 10 fatalities during the Labor Day holiday period in 2022.

Please note that these numbers are preliminary and are based on fatal collisions compiled by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety as of 11:59 p.m. September 4, 2023. For confirmation on fatality information, please contact the appropriate county coroner’s office.
