COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, November 4, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 6, at midnight.

As of November 6, 2016, 838 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 845 highway deaths during the same time period in 2015.
Of the 539 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2016, 262 were not wearing safety belts.
Through midnight November 6, 116 pedestrians died compared to 105 in 2015; 123 motorcyclists died compared to 128 in 2015; and 22 bicyclists died compared to 15 in 2015 on state roads and highways.
