COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, November 18, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 20, at midnight.

As of November 20, 2016, 875 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 884 highway deaths during the same time period in 2015.
Of the 566 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2016, 277 were not wearing safety belts.
Through midnight November 20, 121 pedestrians died compared to 113 in 2015; 126 motorcyclists died compared to 130 in 2015; and 22 bicyclists died compared to 15 in 2015 on state roads and highways.
