SCDPS Reports Eight Killed On South Carolina Roads June 8 – June 10, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, June 8, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 10, at 11:59 p.m.

As of June 10, 423 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 465 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 301 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 152 were not wearing seat belts.

Through June 10, 62 pedestrians have died compared to 60 in 2017; 42 motorcyclists have died compared to 48 in 2017; and seven bicyclists have died compared to eight in 2017 on state roads and highways.
